Mercyhurst College
TWO NEW COURSES FOR WINTER TERM 2009-2010:

Are you curious?
Do you NEED to know? Do you like solving puzzles- even if some of the pieces are missing? If the answers are yes, you might have the makeup to become an intelligence analyst. Mercyhurst’s Department of Intelligence Studies offers a bachelor of arts degree in intelligence studies, a master of science degree in applied intelligence and a graduate certificate in applied intelligence that will provide an education essential to students who want to pursue a career as an intelligence analyst.
Whether you seek a career as an analyst in national security, law enforcement, or business, each involves the preparation of assessments based on the collection, correlation, and analysis of intelligence data. The Intelligence Studies program’s goal is to produce a graduate who is qualified for an entry-level position. This graduate will have a broad understanding of world and American history, a knowledge of comparative governments and political philosophies, the ability to produce written and oral reports and assessments based on research, correlation, and analysis, a familiarity with computer operations and database management, a reading competency in a foreign language, and a general understanding of statistical techniques.
While students come to Mercyhurst to receive an education in Intelligence, the Mercyhurst College Institute for Intelligence Studies (MCIIS) offers more - for your agency, institution, or business.
